Early life
Lipa got induced into music by her father who was a rock band lead singer and guitarist and started sing at age of five. She took music lessons at school before enrolling Sylvia Young Theatre School for weekend singing lessons at age nine. However, her family moved to Kosovo after declaration of its independence in 2008. Nonetheless, Lipa returned to London on her own when she was 15 to pursue a career in music. She re-enlisted at Sylvia Young Theatre School on part-time. Lipa began posting her own songs and covers on You Tube and SoundCloud. She started working as a model and soon after secured a modeling agency.
Career kick-off and debut album: 2013-2018
The Albanian music sensation would balance between modelling and working as a waiter before signing with Tap Management in 2013. Seeing the great potential in her, they offered Lipa a monthly pay in order to quit her job and fully concentrate on music recording. The following year she signed for Warner Records. Dua dropped her debut single New Love in August 2015 followed by her second single Be the One in October. The latter achieving colossal success across Europe, attaining number one in Poland, Slovakia and Belgium as well as top ten in more than eleven European territories. She released her third, Last Dance and fourth singles, Blow Your Mind (Mwah) with the latter debuting at number 72 on the US Billboard Hot 100 to become her debut entry.

Second album: 2019-2021
In March 2020, Lipa released her second studio album, Future Nostalgia debuting number two on the UK Albums Chart peaking at number one the following week. Its lead single Don’t Start Now peaking at number two on both the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. Additionally, the song topped at number one on the US Billboard Mainstream Top 40 and the UK Big Top 40 charts. Four singles from the album achieved top ten positions in the Official Singles Chart. Furthermore, Lipa became the first-ever female artist from Britain to have four singles in the top ten inside a calendar year.
Collaborations, Acting debut, modelling and third album: 2022-present
In 2022, Lipa collaborated with numerous artist including Young Thug and Calvin Harris in the track Potion and Megan Thee Stallion in Sweetest Pie.
The multi-talented Lipa made her acting debut in May 2023 in the fantasy comedy film, Barbie playing the role of Mermaid Barbie. In 2024, she starred in Argylle, a spy action comedy film.
In May 2024, Dua dropped her third album titled, Radical Optimism.
