Salma Celeste Paralluelo Ayingono is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a left winger. She plays for Liga F club Barcelona and the Spain women’s national team (La Roja).
The winger is renown for her pace, physique and stamina, dribbling adroitness and prowess in one-on-ones. Paralluelo is versatile and is also excellent playing in that middle as a striker or a number ten. She is as well a brilliant shooter especially with the left foot.
Salma has made history as the first footballer to win the U-17, U-20 and senior World Cups. The Spanish starlet also won the FIFA Young Player Award 2023 in her first senior World Cup tournament in Australia and New Zealand.
Apart from football Salma is also a great sprinter. She has excelled in both sports, winning medals and breaking records on the track as well as winning trophies on the pitch. However in 2020, due to some injuries, Salma decided to focus on football.

Salma is born to a Spanish, Catalan native father, Jaime Paralluelo and a Equatorial Guinean Fang mother, Diosdada Ayingono. She is the second born and only girl in a three sibling family.
Her brothers are Jose Jaime Paralluelo, elder and Lorenzo Paralluelo, younger are as well footballers.

Club Career
Paralluelo started her engagement in sports at the age of seven. While growing up in her hometown Zaragoza, Spain, Salma was excellent in both football and athletics.
Salma initially played football in Zaragoza CCF B before joining their senior team Zaragoza CCF. In 2019, at the age of only 15, Paralluelo left her hometown club when she signed for Villareal. She spend three seasons at Villareal, making 37 appearances and scoring 23 goals.
In the summer of 2022, Salma signed for the Catalan and Liga F giants Barcelona. She has been instrumental in the clubs success so far. Salma has played a key role in Barcelona’s recent success in both domestic and European stages.

Youth level
Paralluelo has represented the nation at various the youth levels since 2018. She was part of the national youth teams that won the 2018 UEFA Women’s U-17 Championship, the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and the 2022 U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Senior level
On 11 November 2022, Salma made her senior debut in a 7-0 friendly home victory against Argentina, where she scored a hat-trick.
She was named in the Spain squad for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Paralluelo played all the seven matches in the tournament for La Roja. During their quarter-final match against the Netherlands, on 11 August 2023, Salma scored the winning goal in extra-time to take the score to 2-1 in favor of La Roja. Four days later, in the semi-finals against Sweden, she scored yet another critical goal as they emerged victorious by a 2-1. This meant would play their first senior World Cup final in history where they beat England 1-0 to become the World Champions for the first time. It as well made Spain the second nation after German to have won both the men’s and women’s World Cups.
In the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Paralluelo made history as the youngest player to represent her country in the tournament. She also became the youngest player to score for her nation in the tournament.
Salma Paralluelo Athletics Career
Salma knew she was a good sprinter since childhood. She would race with her brothers around the family house. At school her speed would stand out during races.

Paralluelo started to pursue her dream in athletics at San Jose Athletics club in Zaragoza. She soon after joined Scorpoi-71 club. In the 2019 Spanish Indoor Athletics Championships, Paralluelo wo her first medal, a bronze in 400 meters after clocking 53.83 seconds. This was as well a Spanish national record in the under-18 and under-20 categories. She consequently qualified to participate in the March 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland making history as the second youngest athlete to do so.
During the Ibero-American Athletics meeting, Salma ran the 400 meter hurdles at a 57.43 seconds. She surpassed the all-time best Spanish under-18 record and as well broke the 2019 under-18 world best time. As a result Paralluelo qualified for the July 2019 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival in Baku, Azerbaijan. Here she won gold medals in the 400 meters hurdles and medley relay
