Lulu Khadija Hassan is a celebrated top Kenyan journalist, TV presenter and Swahili newscaster who works for Royal Media Services’ Citizen TV. Popularly regarded as one of the best female TV presenters, Lulu is widely loved by her viewers due to her aptitude and eloquence in Swahili language.
Lulu is also an award-winning television film producer and, the founder and C.E.O of Jiffy Pictures. Her company produces Swahili television programs notably; Maria, Zora, Aziza, Huba to mention but a few.
She co-hosts a famous news bulletin ‘Nipashe Wikendi’ which airs on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 p.m. (EAT) together with her husband Rashid Abdallah. They are the first couple in Kenya’s media history to co-host in news presentation.

The famous news anchor was born and brought up in Mombasa, Kenya. She has Seychellois descent through her both parents. Khadija is the first born in a family of three daughters.

Lulu attended to Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa for her secondary education. She then enrolled at Salrene Travel Operations College where she trained in travel industry courses as a cabin crew, air hostess, ticket officer and human resource manager.

News presenter
The now established TV personality started her career in journalism as an English news presenter at Radio Salaam, Mombasa. She later moved to Standard Media Group’s KTN TV as a Swahili news anchor.
The influential journalist then switched to Royal Media owned Citizen TV as a news anchor. She co-hosts ‘Citizen Nipashe’ news bulletin every Saturday and Sunday from 7 p.m. together with Rashid Abdalla, her husband and fellow newscaster.
Film producer
Lulu and Rashid own Jiff Pictures, a film production company which produces mainly Swahili programs for local TV stations and streaming podiums like Dstv and Showmax.
Khadija has also produced a number of film series airing on Citizen TV, Maisha Magic Bongo, Maisha Magic East and Showmax. Some of her famous work includes; Maria, Sultana, Zora, Aziza, Kovu, Huba and Maza. These programs have become popular across East Africa where Swahili is the common language.
