Troye Sivan Mellet is a well-known South African-born Australian singer, songwriter, You Tuber and actor. The now renowned Pop music artist rose to fame by singing on You Tube and in Australian talent competitions.

Troye career in music began with him singing at the 2006, 2007 and 2008 Channel Seven Perth Telethon. He made it as far as the finals of the StarSearch 2007. In June 2007, Sivan released his debut extended Play, Dare to Dream.
2013- 2017: Global fame, debut album and top of Billboard charts
After signing with a Universal Music Australia label, EMI Music Australia in 2013, he released his third EP, TRXYE on 15 August 2014. The EP debuted as iTunes number one in more than 55 countries and number five on the Billboard 200 a week later to become Troye’s first top 10 album. Its lead single, Happy little pill attained top 10 on Australia Music charts and had shipment of copies in excess of 35,000. Consequently, it was awarded a gold certificate by the ARIA (Australia Recording Industry Association).
In 2015, Sivan released his fourth EP, Wild in September succeeded by his first studio album, Blue Neighborhood in December. Youth, the albums lead single was his first single to gain entry into Billboard Hot 100 top 40, summitting at number 23. The subsequent 2016 Blue Neighborhood Tour and Suburbia Tour proved supportive for the album.
2018- 2023: Second, third albums and two Grammy Awards nominations
In August 2018, he released his second Studio album, Bloom which attained top 5 in Australia and the USA. The album’s lead single My My My was Sivan’s second number one single on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.
He released another EP, In a Dream in 2020. In April 2021, You, a collaboration with Regard and Tate McRae was released. For eight straight weeks, the song summited the Billboards Dace/Electronic Songs chart. In September 2021, he released Angel Baby a single which became popular in Southeast Asia and was also in top 5 in a number of other countries.
On 13 October 2023, the Australian superstar released his third album, Something to give Each Other. Three singles from the album, Got me started, One of Your Girls and Rush charted at top 40 on the ARIA singles chart and UK singles chart. Moreover, One of Your Girls and Rush got to the Billboard Hot 100. Rush as well won Sivan his maiden Grammy Awards nominations and two for that matter, for Best Pop Dance Recording and for Best Music Video.
Acting Career
Sivan began his acting career 2007 when he starred in Oliver production at the Regal Theatre as Oliver Twist. He also played a role in Betrand the Terrible, a Western Australian short film.
In 2009, he played the role of Wolverine in film X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He acted in leading role as the titular character in the South Africa filmed trilogy titled Spud released in 2010, 2013 and 2014. The film got six SAFTA nominations which included Sivan’s Best Lead Actor.
Sivan’s exceptional success in film industry has earned him several accolades. In 2017, he won the GLAAD Stephen F. Kolzak Award to become the youngest recipient of the Award.
