Tate Rosner McRae is a famous Canadian singer, songwriter, actress and dancer. She is a pop music artist. McRae first gained popularity at age 13 as the first Canadian finalist on the So you think you can dance, an American reality television show.

After her songs gained prominence on YouTube Tate was signed by RCA Records in 2019. In January 2020, McRae dropped her EP, All the Things I Never Said with. Her track You Broke Me First acquired international fame and topped at number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100. She was the youngest artist to appear on the Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in 2021. Her second EP Too Young to Be Sad released later in the year became the 2021 most streamed EP by female artist on Spotify.

McRae’s first studio album I Used to Think I Could Fly released 2022 acquired massive reception. It summited at number 13 on the Billboard 200 and was in Top Ten in numerous countries. McRae was introduced to dancing by her mother who started training her at age four. She kicked off recreational dancing while aged six and from eleven years old, she started training in a wide range of dance styles.

Voice acting: 2013-2015

Tate was a voice actress for the Lalaloopsy (2013-2015) an animated children’s television series where she voiced the Spot Splatter Splash part.

Dancing Career: 2013-2018

At the 2013 Dance Awards held in New York City, McRae won the Best Female Dancer Mini Category. She was a finalist at the 2014 National Gala of the New York City Dance Alliance. At the 2015 Youth America Grand Prix, McRae won silver and bronze medals for solo and duet respectively. She consequently received a two-week scholarship at the Berlin State Ballet company. Early stages and debut EP: 2017-2019

McRae’s YouTube channel incepted in 2011 at first featured mainly dance videos. She would later in 2017 begin a video series titled ‘Create With Tate’ where would upload songs she had written and recorded in her bedroom. Her debut song One day , which she wrote at just age 14 attained more than 40 million views forcing her to release the song as an independent single. The track would soon be certified gold in Canada to became McRae’s maiden career certification. She followed it up with other uploads which were also greatly received with millions of views. She was consequently named the YouTube Artist on the Rise.

In August 2019, McRae signed for RCA Records since they supported both her music and dancing career. Second studio album and global milestone: 2023-present

The music sensation got five nominations for the Juno awards 2023. In September 2023, Tate dropped Greedy, the lead single for her second studio album titled Think Later. It became her greatest debut ever on Spotify and her first at Top ten on the International Spotify Charts. Moreover, it featured as number one single globally on the Billboard Global 200. She dropped Think Later her second studio album on December 2023. It debuted in the Top five in charts across the world. The album’s second song Exes released on November 2023 featured in top ten in Canada and Netherlands. It also topped in the US, UK and Australia.
